Rooms

In order for buildingSMART UK & Ireland to effectively manage the work it does, it does so under a number of work streams referred to as ‘Rooms’, which fall under the following headings:

Process:

The process room focuses on ‘good practice’ around open standards; led by Jeff Stephens.

The following active work is being undertaken:

  • COBie – Review of the ability to export and interrogate information through COBie, to report issues back to vendors to resolve.
  • LoX – Review of the current international proposals around Level of X, and the support needed by industry to implement

Product Room:

The product room focuses on ‘good practice’ around product and manufacturer’s data in the context of open data standards; led by Paul Surin.

Regulatory:

The regulatory room focuses on ‘good practice’ around statutory permissions in the context of open data standards; led my Nick Nisbet.

The following active work is being undertaken:

  • BIM4Regs

Technical Room:

The technical room focuses on ‘good practice’ around the technical implementation of open data standards; led my Nick Nisbet.

Infrastructure Room:

The infrastructure (infra)  room focuses on ‘good practice’ around the application of open data standards to linear assets; led my Phil Jackson.
